Laboratory Technician


Laboratory technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Product sampling and registration process.
Perform laboratory tests for reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations;
Follow set procedures for quality analysis.
Preparing samples;
Constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, MP Saftest, Labwave 900, pipetting, viscosity meter and pH meters;
Familiar with PV (Peroxide value) and % Fat
Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced;
Read, record and interpreting results;
Using computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs;
Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability;
Conducting searches on identified topics relevant to the research;
Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks
Clean equipment, such as glassware, coolers, sinks, tables, samplers using solvents, water and detergents or acids according to standard operating procedures
Responsible for the overall housekeeping and general cleanliness of the lab area
Performs routine, non-technical duties throughout the laboratory.
Performs routine QC checks as presented.
Basic minimum
Qualifications:
As degree in related field with 3 years' experience;
Must be detail oriented with the ability to read and write English fluently to follow complex instructions
Routinely and safely and must be able to work standing for most of the day
Must be familiar with MS office programs such as outlook, explorer, excel and word; database experience is required ;
An understanding of basic chemistry
The ideal candidate would possess:
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills, B.S. in chemistry, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, food science
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Compensation
Target $13-15/hour DOEEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
