Under general supervision of the Listos Program Manager, the Listos Program Assistant will assist the Emergency Preparedness Educator in implementing and supporting emergency preparedness initiatives across multiple counties.
The position will require travel to Kern, Kings, Tulare, and Merced Counties, with a primary office in Fresno.
Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel.
This is a temporary, 6-month position focused on helping to deliver emergency preparedness materials and coordinating basic community outreach.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Catholic Charities Diocese of Fresno is a community benefit organization serving families who need food, clothing, housing, and other related support services.
The Listos Program Assistant will assist with the distribution of emergency preparedness information and materials, playing a supportive role in the overall goals of the Listos California initiative.
SAMPLE OF DUTIES No direct supervision of staff is exercised.
Assist the Emergency Preparedness Educator in distributing emergency preparedness materials (such as flyers or go-bags) to community members and partner organizations.
Provide support for community outreach efforts by attending local events, assisting with setup and cleanup, and ensuring that materials are available.
Perform basic administrative tasks, such as keeping records of distributed materials and assisting with the scheduling of events and meetings.
Communicate with community members, organizations, and partners to provide information about emergency preparedness resources and upcoming events.
Help coordinate logistics for small workshops and events under the guidance of the Program Coordinator.
Travel to communities in Kern, Kings, Tulare, and Merced Counties to assist in outreach efforts and deliver program materials (some lifting of items up to 20 pounds may be required).
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Listos program.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Perform general office work as required, including but not limited to leading the front desk reception area, answering telephone calls, and administrative duties such as but not limited to filing, faxing, etc.
Help, as needed, in other Catholic Charities program departments.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education:
High School graduate or its equivalent.
Experience:
Competency with basic computer skills.
License:
A valid California Class C Driver License.
Ability to use own transportation for work-related activities.
Provide proof of insurance or be insurable.
Other Demonstrated ability to speak, read and write in Spanish and English fluently.
Familiarity with the communities of Kern, Kings, Tulare, and Merced Counties is a plus.
