Assists with the affairs of the facility in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances.
Assists with managing and controls the functions of the Administrative and Finance Departments.
Performs duties and functions relative to a wide range of programs and functions.
Interacts and coordinates with all management and staff and a wide variety of groups and other individuals.
Assists in coordinating activities of all departments.
Essential Functions:

Performs the accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and preparation of bank deposits, coding, closing and balancing journals at month end Receives, processes and monitors Workers Compensation claims, maintains Cal-OSHA logs, facilitates compliance Promotes the health and welfare of the residents Assists in development of programs and coordination of services Assists in development of the strategic plan and oversees development, and implementation of various facility systems and functions Promotes favorable public relations Reviews, prepares and refers to a variety of reports, memos, correspondences, logs, manuals and handbooks Attends in-service training workshops and meetings as required Provides effective and courteous service to all residents, guest, vendors and co-workers May conducts Walk-Thrus (Move-In/Move-Out) as needed Works with the Maintenance Department in ordering the cleaning or replacement of apartment flooring and/or window coverings, ordering supplies, etc.
Consults with Administrator regarding concerns or objectives that need to be accomplished Performs other related essential duties as required.
Requirements:
Minimum Training and
Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in a related field is highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills and abilities.
Proficient in Quickbooks.
Knowledge and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
Knowledge of:
Administration principles and practices with particular reference to the principles of organization and functions of retirement communities and administration; Accounting techniques and internal control; Local operations, programs and problems, and resources available to resolve facility problems; Rules, regulations, laws and ordinances of various department and pertinent agencies such as OSHA The principles of organization, planning and management Physical Requirements:
Ability to operate a variety of automated office machines including a calculator, copier, computer, etc.
; Ability to coordinates eyes, hands and fingers in performing semi-skilled movements, such as computer input and typing; Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work involving sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time; Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects; Ability to lift and/or carry weights of ten to twenty pounds Mathematical Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; Ability to calculate decimals, rations, percentages and fractions; Ability to perform and apply descriptive and inferential statistics Judgement and Situational Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform semi-repetitive tasks such as typing, etc.
; Ability to apply principles of rational systems such as accounting in order to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to apply principles of syntheses functions in long range and organizational planning; Ability to use independent judgement in fairly non-routine situations, such as responding to residents' concerns and issues Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication:
Ability to comprehend and correctly use a variety of informational documents such as invoices, incident reports and workers compensations claims, accounts receivable and the budget; Ability to comprehend a variety of reference books and manuals including Administrative, Facility Policy, Employee Handbook, strategic plan, computer manuals, resident files, Chart of Accounts and Rate Sheets; Ability to prepare status and OSHA reports, and accounting journal, receipts, Accounts Receivable Reports and form designs using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style; Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their families, visitors, employees, vendors, State Regulators, Board of Directors, consultants and peers verbally and in writing; Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups utilizing a broad base of verbal skills; Ability to utilize and interpret technical terminology for communication with professionals in the legal, marketing and accounting fields; Ability to keep abreast of any changes in policy, methods, operations, etc.
