Job Description:
As a Farming Controller at Insert Company Name , you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our farming operations.

Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and maintain annual operating budgets for the farming operations.
Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the profitability of different crops and farming practices.
Prepare financial forecasts and variance analysis reports to identify areas for improvement.
Cost Management:
Monitor and control operational expenses, including labor, equipment, and inputs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve cost efficiency.
Review and analyze procurement contracts to ensure favorable terms for the company.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory tracking systems to accurately monitor crop yields, inputs, and other materials.
Coordinate with farm managers to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
Provide timely and accurate financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Risk Management:
Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with farm managers, agronomists, and other stakeholders to develop financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency within the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.

years of experience in financial management, preferably in the agriculture industry.
Strong understanding of agricultural operations and farm accounting practices.
Proficiency in financial analysis tools and ERP systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
