PCM currently has a workers' compensation claims examiner training opportunity for the right person.
This is a unique opportunity for a hard worker who is looking for a change or an opportunity to advance in a new career.
Prior experience in a legal office with a workers' compensation background is mandatory for this position.
The ultimate goal of this candidate will be to successfully complete the Self-Insurance Administrator exam within a designated time frame, and ultimately begin to adjust workers' compensation claims.
The candidate will work in the PCM office where there will be a work-education split.
A portion of the day will be dedicated to online education and the other will be on-the-job training.
This position would be ideal for a legal secretary or assistant who is looking for a career change with the ability to advance.
The work portion of the candidate's day will consist of clerical support to adjusters and may include the following:
Communication with claimants, attorneys, medical providers and employers Payment of benefits to injured workers Confirmation with medical providers regarding work status Processing of benefit letters Entering and review of notes/diaries in claims management system as instructed Assisting adjusters with correspondence, litigation referrals, phone calls and other miscellaneous tasks The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience in a legal setting with a workers' compensation background.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and the ability to become proficient with commonly used claim handling software Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, including recordkeeping and standard office equipment, business arithmetic, proper English usage, including grammar and composition A history of good attendance and punctuality Ability to read, analyze and follow complex and strict instruction under strict deadlines Bilingual (Spanish) ideal but not required Job Type:
