Associates or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Video Production, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a closely related field and
Experience:
Experience in multimedia communications, public relations, or graphic/video design which required extensive visual, written, and oral communication.
Standard Requirement:
Possess a valid California Class C Driver's License along with a driving record that is acceptable to the District's automobile insurance provider.
Position Summary The Public Affairs Representative plans, organizes, participates and performs a variety of communications, media, and other external affairs activities, while supporting the District's goals; and serves as a resource to District management, landowners, and water users regarding communications, media, and external affairs; facilitates the development of cooperative working relationships; and assists with the development and communication of District activities and policies.
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:

with a one (1) hour lunch; incumbents must have the ability to work hours outside of normal work schedule.
The duties of the Public Affairs Representative position include, but are not limited to, assisting in writing, editing, and distributing newsletters, fact sheets, notices, press releases, columns, letters, and other written materials; developing, collecting, and overseeing the creation of digital, printed, and video material; including but not limited to, investing time in the District to collect photos/videos of District activities, overseeing the collection of footage, and creating and posting social media content.
Incumbents monitor and track the District's social media strategy, platforms, software, and content; ensure brand adherence in District materials; learns and comprehends District operations and maintains positive working relationships with staff, farmers, counties, local interest groups, and the public in and around the District; conducts tours of the District and facilities and assists with presentations at trade shows, classrooms, and before community interest groups, professional associations, and the general public; and coordinates with District management to respond to requests for information from media, public officials, public agencies, and the public; researches requested information and suggests recommendations appropriate to resolving inquiries.
