Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent Previous experience in social services or skilled nursing preferred Outstanding communication (verbal and written) skills Ability to remain calm and professional in all work-related situations Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and confidentiality required
Responsibilities:
Assists the Director of Social Services in the day-to-day operation of the department Answers phones, takes notes, coordinates transportation for patients/residents as needed Supports patients and families in finding resources to meet their needs through research, education, relationships with community agencies, etc.
Provides Medicare/Medicaid and financial information when requested Maintains accurate social service progress notes Updates the social services log and/or directory(ies) as needed or instructed Plans and organizes time and duties to efficiently maintain caseloads Protects residents' files and information per company policies and HIPAA requirements Treats everyone at work kindly, escalating issues professionally when needed Must be knowledgeable on psychotropics and discharge planning.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
