ON-CALL SUBSTITUTE YOUTH PROGRAM LEADER POSITIONS Work ED is hiring after school lead teachers to join our team based in your area working on site at local elementary schools.
This position will support our ongoing operations for after school programs and camps all year around.
ON-CALL SUBSTITUTE YOUTH PROGRAM LEADER ROLE After school lead teachers are responsible for leading a group of students ranging from 1st through 8th grade on After School Series at their school.
This involves leading your group of 15-20 students with High School Teaching Assistants supporting you on fun challenges designed to spark students' passions in technology, team building, life skills and being a positive support pillar.
This includes being a leader for your students, being a great team member with your other Leads and helping the Work ED team create a warm & supportive culture.
Overall this program plants the seed for students to engage with careers fields such as Cybersecurity, Video Game Design, Entrepreneurship, Drones & Aviation, Story Telling, Marketing and other creative areas to help evolve the future understanding of these amazing career fields which can create financial security for a person and their family.
This is all an effort to help many of our students break generational poverty and accelerate their career trajectory for high wage opportunities.
POSITION DETAILS Additionally, this role will support building the TA community vital to Work ED programs and our community-based approach.
The program starts on September 5, 2023 through June 6, 2024 Monday - Friday, 2-6pm, but training date starts on August 28th, 2023.

IMPORTANT:
Pay rate during training period is $21.
00/hour Once On-Call Substitute Youth Program Lead begin subbing at on-site location, pay rate is $24.
00/hour Program Hours of Operations is from 2pm-6pm (Monday through Friday).
Must be available during these hours of operations.
May have opportunities to work in Madera Region as well.
This is a 1099 position.
- Intersessions and Afterschool Programs - Compensation:
$21.
00 an hour during training.
Once training is complete, the pay rate increase to $24.
00 an hour for on-site subbing.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS Plan, prepare, and execute our Work ED curriculum with your students walking them through the different activities and challenges in a variety of subjects.
Support the Work ED team and your school's students throughout the weeks of learning.
Support the next generation of Work ED students to build skills which will help them offset learning loss such as building their confidence and their ability to make friends.
Help build a supportive Paid High School Internship community which supports our students and the ecosystem moving forward.
Support all current and future school relationships from chaperones to leadership.
Join our industry partners, instructors and leadership in meetings before the programs and regularly to ensure the creation of a cohesive program which will have the desired impact on our students.

Current or previous teaching assistant, program operations, youth mentorship, or other leadership in helping youth grow as people An interest in helping students discover this career field and connect with them Strong interpersonal and team work abilities supporting a fast paced dedicated team working to constantly innovate in a new space.
A passion for youth and education helping students cross the divide between education and industry.
Understanding of how to effectively listen to students, parents, educators to understand potential challenges they are facing and be a pillar of support.
Ability to lead and support our team in leading Paid Interns while building a culture of support and warmth.
Education Requirement:
High school diploma or the equivalent, and Two years of college (48 units), or A.
A.
degree (or higher), or Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.
