You are a perfect fit for this position if:
(1) You share a love/hate relationship with the practice of family law; It drives you mental, but you can't give it up (2) You glow at an immaculately prepared disclosure statement; and, (3) you can and are willing to give a voice to a client, that is scared by the process, but has a lot to say.
Responsibilities Preparing and drafting motions, pleadings, judgments, statements, documents, and other correspondence (e.
g.
, debt and asset lists, witness affidavits, child support worksheets, responsive pleadings, etc.
) Performing legal research Serving as a liaison between the client and attorney, conducting client interviews Preparing and reviewing discovery packages, including disclosure statements, answers to interrogatories, and production requests Maintaining effective communication with your attorney and the office staff Skills Proven experience as a paralegal (family law necessary) Knowledge of California Family Law, Civil Procedures, and Court Rules Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, dictaphone etc) Proven experience with legal forms, e.
