Packaging Supervisor Position
Job
Summary: Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment. Achieve the operational goals, including productivity and maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position may vary. This list is not exhaustive of all duties that the position holder may be required to perform.
Learn and memorize production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements
Supervising 60 or more employees and coordinate staffing of temporary and permanent employees
Motivating employees with oral and written communication
Able to quickly calculate math equations related to production
Start, adjust, and repair packaging machinery, or will need to notify the maintenance department
Provide supervision and execution of the packaging schedule
Observes packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications
Requisition containers and other supplies for delivery to work stations
Collaborate with other departments to enhance production requirements
Develop team members for improving individual and organization performance
Train employees on operation of equipment or other job related duties
Approving employee timecards
Other duties within the packaging department may be assigned
Education/
Experience:
High School or Bachelor's degree preferred. Approximately 2- 5 years of related experience and/or training as a supervisor/manager; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The temperature of the work environment is cold (about 45 degrees Fahrenheit). Ability to work around meat products with mold.

The employee must frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, reach and bend/twist. On occasion the employee is required to sit, kneel/squat and crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally conducts repetitive motion.
