ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:
Designing, developing, and managing databases (e.
g.
, Microsoft Access, SQL Server; ArcGIS Geodatabase); Producing routine data visualization outputs using ArcGIS (ArcMap and Pro), EVS or Leapfrog, Autodesk or AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and/or scripts (Python, VBA, R, etc.
); Workflow and metadata documentation, preparation of maps and exhibits using GIS data; Developing comprehensive workflows to automate compilation of data from multiple sources for models, maps, reports, and other tools; Use and understanding of GPS for data collection; Understanding basic visualization procedures and creating high-quality cartographic products for client deliverables; and Interacting with internal clients to support engineering and environmental projects.

Tasks will be designed to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in these technical disciplines and the business of professional consulting services.
You may also be required to perform tasks in other company practice areas, as needed.

Advancement is based on an individual s own performance and initiative EDUCATION AND LICENSURE Bachelor s degree in Geography or related field OR from an accredited college or university in the field of science, engineering, or technology.
(required) Advanced degree in engineering or related field.
(preferred) SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Prior internship of related work experience.
(preferred) Technical training and strong experience in GIS and ETL workflows at either the undergraduate or post-graduate level.
Experience with database management and GIS for environmental engineering applications, including the ability to produce high quality maps, write complex queries (e.
g.
, MS Access and/or SQL Server), automate routine processes (e.
g.
, via Python, VBA), manipulate analytical and spatial data, and generate reports.
Experience with a scripting language (e.
g.
, Python, JavaScript, etc.
) for data mining and automating routine processes.
Proficient in SQL and MS Excel, including the ability to write complex formulas, create graphs and charts, and perform practical data exploration and manipulation.
Knowledge of Global Positioning System (GPS) data collection systems, coordinate systems, projections, and geo-referencing.
Experience with cartography, color theory, and map design (portfolios are welcome).
Familiarity with geoprocessing concepts.
Knowledge of different AGOL web mapping tools and workflows (e.
g.
, Field Maps, Survey123).
(preferred) Experience with iOS application development and troubleshooting (e.
g.
, JavaScript, Rust, Swift).
(preferred) Experience with three-dimensional modeling and visualization including the process of converting, importing, and exporting the surfaces between programs (e.
g.
, EVS or Leapfrog).
(preferred) Knowledge of basic statistics.

The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec s total compensation package for employees.
Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
