Part-time 13 hours ago Full Job Description This position helps to create an excellent guest experience by performing set-up and clean-up duties for Zoo special events.
Events Set-Up staff also maintains and organizes event equipment and supplies.
We are pleased to offer this position an Employee Assistance Program, 401K, Paid CA Sick Time earned on an accrued basis.
The pay range for this position is $16.
00 - $19.
00 per hour.
Offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.
Essential Accountabilities Sets up and breaks down events, including but not limited to, tables, chairs, lighting, and other equipment needs.
Assists with installation of seasonal exhibitions Follows instructions and completes assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
Demonstrates attention to detail and efficient work flow.
Adheres to safety procedures in all aspects of work, including the use of Zoo equipment.
Uses good judgment and proper lifting techniques (team lift, etc.
) while lifting/moving heavy items.
Maintains Zoo equipment to ensure safety, security, and proper operation.
Maintains order in storage areas and returns equipment to its proper place.
Effectively communicates and works cooperatively with management and fellow employees before, during, and after an event.
Greets Zoo guests in a friendly, professional manner throughout the workday.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Some related experience in a customer service or special events environment preferred but not required.
Strong verbal English language communications skills required.
Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) communication skills a plus.
Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record, preferred.
Ability to work evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to drive and operate zoo vehicles including, but not limited to a Taylor Dunn and golf cart.
Ability to work overtime as needed.

The employee is regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
Visual acuity to read printed instructions and safety information.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (in person and via telephone), at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Work Environment The position primarily functions outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, and inclement weather.
The position may work in close proximity to Zoo animals.
Occasional local travel may be required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
