Delivery Driver (Class A) Reports to:
Dispatch Manager Position Summary :
This position is responsible to safely operate company owned and leased vehicles in order to facilitate deliveries and appliance installations to customer's homes.
Summary of Key Responsibilities Maintain and protect all property to company standards by complete vehicle inspection reports, and communicate any variance of the company standard.
Responsible for fueling the vehicles at the end of each day and recording the fuel amounts and odometer reading on route sheets.
Review and verify bill-of-lading for accuracy and completeness, and ensuring that shipper information, description of freight and piece counts are legible and required signatures are obtained.
Maintain an open line of communication with the Dispatch department and advise of any problems that may arise with equipment or problems encountered during deliveries.
Summary of Experience and Education High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combined education and work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques Ability and skill to operate all tools needed to carry out assigned duties.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external customers.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and customers.
Licenses and Certifications Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear.
The employee is constantly required to use hands to handles or operate objects, tools or controls.
Occasionally required to operate objects, tools or controls.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and walk.
The employee will frequently lift/move up to 100 lbs.
